This game was originally going to be call An Island and an Elevator with an elevator that takes the player to different levels with different genre of gameplay. The project was later renamed to An Island and a Few Trees. After taking some courses on game design and development, I decided to focus on designing the island level with different locations and incorporating mini-games. As a result, the island in An Island and a Few Trees has a somewhat open-world feel with "a few trees" to denote the fact that this is a shorter game.
The official release name is Arbor Island, with "Arbor" referencing "a few trees."
Spend a morning at the beach followed by an afternoon in the meadow or explore a zen garden before resting by a campfire. For the unwearied, there is a mushroom forest only accessible at night.
Search for hidden objects scattered across the island. Try your luck at searching for themed items thoughtfully hidden at each locations.
Take a break and meditate. Discover meditation spots around the island with a shuffle playlist of music.
Search for treasure with a metal detector at the beach or shoot tin cans off a fence in the meadow.
